Within each area, we will look in great depth at four core studies (two old and two new in each area) which have become extremely influential in the world of psychology. There are twenty core studies in total throughout your A’ Level course.
Find TED talks and YouTube clips on the above areas of psychology and check out some of the famous psychologists listed above. Twin studies are extremely fascinating.
You will also be studying a series of debates in psychology which include:
Nature / nurture
Reductionism / holism
Freewill / determinism
Psychology as a science
You will also be studying research methods which will include:
Measures of central tendency
The experimental and non-experimental method
You will be conducting your own research and will be writing up your findings as a psychologist.
