Fantastic A Level Results!
Fantastic Sixth Form Results at TWS as A Levels continue upward trend!
Today Sixth Form students at The Whitstable School are celebrating! Many have secured places at a range of universities and other destinations following strong A Level and vocational qualification results. These results build upon a strong set of IB Career Programme results in July and continue the upward trend the school has seen in A Level results over several years.
Particular highlights included amazing Textiles A Level results with all students achieving grade A or A*, this is in addition to A grades in Art and Design and Distinction Stars across many subjects including Applied Science, Business Studies and Creative iMedia.
A huge well done to all of our students, in particular; Erin who achieved an A* in Textiles, Distinction* in Business Studies and Distinction* in Creative iMedia and has secured a place at UCA to study Fine Art. Another top performing student was Callum, who has secured a place at Kent University to study Sociology and Criminology with a Distinction* in Business, B in Criminology, grade 6s (equivalent to a B grades) in IB Social and Cultural Anthropology and IB Mathematics.
This year saw half of the cohort applying to university with students awarded confirmed places studying courses such as English Literature, Psychology, Finance and Primary Education. Students are off to a variety of universities including the University of Kent, Canterbury Christ Church as well Norwich University, Bournemouth and University of Creative Arts. Students have also achieved places on highly sought after Higher Level Apprenticeships in the finance sector.
We also are also congratulating those students who have secured employment in a spectrum of career pathways. These include students going into the Police and Fire Services, as well as an up and coming chef, musician, estate agent and two entrepreneurs who have already started small businesses.
Head of Sixth Form, Ms Simons was very happy with student achievement, saying “Our students have worked incredibly hard over the past 2 years and this is shown in our results. I am excited for the students to continue their studies in a range of degrees and careers. We are also thrilled to be launching a broader A Level offer next year which will build on our A Level success this year.”
The Whitstable School has a range of new A Levels, a new football academy in partnership with Football Futures and a new Level 2 digital pathway. If you are interested in joining our growing Sixth Form in September, visit the school website or email tws_admin@swale.at
